In this presentation the audience will learn about how to use Moodle as a venue for international online exchanges. The presenter will describe how he has implemented a six-week online exchange between students in his second year university Communication course with fourth year university students in Ningbo, China. For many students study abroad programs are either beyond their financial means or not part of their course of study. Whilst it is impossible to create exact replicas of such exchanges online, Moodle does make it possible for students in different countries to meet and exchange ideas in an online environment. The presenter will explain how the needs of the two cohorts of students influenced the course structure. He will then go on to describe the activities that students participated in, and the modules that were used to enable these activities. The main modules used were: the Forum, Feedback and Wiki modules and a third-party plugin called the "Record Audio repository", which allows Moodle users to directly record audio into Moodle. He will conclude with a description of the technical and pedagogical problems that were experienced, and suggest some solutions. Finally, participants will be able to download a copy of the course.

静的な成績データ, または外部システムが生成する成績データのMoodleへのインポートは, Moodleと外部との連携の重要な例である. 評定にデータをインポートするもっとも一般的な方法はCSVインポートであるが, これ以外にも, XMLファイル, XMLのURI, grade publishing, Opaque, LIS などの経路がある. これらについて, 検証結果をもとに, 使用方法, 適した用途の比較を報告する.

東京家政大学では全学生を対象として、Moodleを用いた導入教育、達成度アンケートを行っている。導入教育では放送大学UPO-NET教材を利用している。また、1年に1度、学生が学科の設問項目に答える達成度アンケートでは、その用途に適したモジュールを導入して、Moodleを利用したことがほとんどない学生と教員どうしでオンライン上のコミュニケーションが行えるようにする予定である。講演時にはそのモジュールの導入が済んでいるので、その利用状況についても報告する予定である。

This intermediate Moodle workshop will give those with a little experience of Moodle a hands-on opportunity to develop their understanding. After a brief review of the main concepts from beginner workshop, this workshop will cover  other aspects of using Moodle. Participation in the first beginner workshop is not required, but helpful.

After reviewing the steps taken to create material as mentioned in the  first beginners' workshop, participants will be shown other features of Moodle and how to add more content to a course. Various modules will be introduced, as well as explanation of how to add basic multimedia such as audio and pictures. Participants will be able to do this on their very own course. We will also look at other Moodle features such as grades and tracking students progress.

基本的に英語で行うが日本語のサポートもあります。

The Open University of Japan (OUJ) has been a school of distance education based mainly on broadcasting and postal mail, but we are increasingly adopting ICT innovations including the Moodle LMS. However, we realize that there are some difficulties to be overcome. These difficulties are not unique to OUJ, indeed they are likely to be common to most educational institutions in Japan, and they seem to be hindering ICT innovation in Japanese education as a whole.
In this presentation, the speaker will introduce the unique education system of OUJ, touching upon its ICT innovation efforts and difficulties. He will make clear the differences and similarities between OUJ and other universities as well as predict the future direction of regular universities, before posing some questions about ICT education in Japan.
放送大学は、放送と郵送を主たる手段とした通信制大学であったが、この数年、Moodle の利用も含め、急速にICT化を進めている。しかし、そこにはいくつかの課題も残されている。これら課題のいくつかは、放送大学だけの課題ではなく、おそらく日本の大部分の教育機関の課題であり、それが日本の教育のICT化を阻んでいるように感じられる。
放送大学は学制も独特であり、その紹介、ICT化への取り組み、抱えている課題などを紹介しながら、現在の一般の大学との対比点や相似性を明白にし、一般の大学の将来方向に対するコメントを交えながら、日本のICT教育に関する問題提起などを行なう。

SCORM 2004対応のプラグイン(活動モジュール・成績表用のブロック・コースフォーマットから構成)を開発した。標準のSCORMプラグインであるmod_scormは、SCORM 2004の一部の機能にしか対応していない。本プラグインは、SCORM 2004のシーケンシング機能はフルサポートし、その他の主要な機能にも対応している。また、活動モジュールのモバイルデバイス対応も行っている。本発表は、別途申し込みを行っているショーケース「eラーニングコンテンツの流通を支援するプラグインの開発」の宣伝も兼ねる。

テック・サポーターとは本学情報処理センターのスタッフとして利用者支援を行 うアルバイト学生である。在籍する学生ということから、学生本来の授業等に支 障を来すこと無く、スタッフとして活動できるように彼らの育成をmoodleで行っ た。彼らは利用者のトラブル解決に必要な基本的スキルを身につけるために本学 システムの設定情報や利用方法などを学習し、日々のトラブルに対応している。 対応内容はmoodleの「データベース」に報告させ蓄積し、ケーススタディとして 共有した。その使用感や有効性を紹介する。

Research has shown that giving learners control over when, where and how long they learn helps with motivation, but instructor set limits and goals are also necessary for many students. To supply these elements the grade condition feature of the restrict access settings was used to create a self-paced nine-week listening activity that combines the Lesson and Quiz activities. This presentation demonstrates the creation of the pre-listening exercises in the Lesson Module and the set up of the lesson flow that enables learners the ability to review material as many times as necessary before listening to the audio file. After passing a comprehension quiz students move on to the next set of pre-listening exercises in the activity. Moving between the pre-listening exercises, the audio file and comprehension quiz is controlled using the restrict access grade condition feature. The settings for this feature and the settings in the Quiz and Lesson activities will be outlined, taking into consideration the severity of the penalty applied to a question with multiple attempts in the question settings. If the penalty is too strict students can become discouraged.
