This presentation will explore the intricacies of capturing, uploading and distributing multimedia files within Moodle. The first part of the presentation will cover the standard multimedia filters included in Moodle core and will explain how to add new filters for unsupported media formats. The next portion of the presentation will examine existing multimedia capture plugins and tools for Moodle and outline the advantages and disadvantages of using Flash, Java or HTML 5 for multimedia capture. Existing media capture applications such as PoodLL, Nanogong, Moodle SlideShow and Moodle VideoBoard will be used to illustrate the different media capture techniques. The final part of the presentation will focus on how mobile devices, particularly iOS and Android devices, can be used to capture and upload multimedia to Moodle using either native apps or HTML5 web-based apps. Media capture methods will be demonstrated using mobile apps such as My Moodle, Moodle Mobile and Moodle VideoBoard.

Institutions that use Moodle often require their students (participants etc.) to make reservations for meetings, counseling sessions, and other face to face type sessions. This presentation will introduce a modified version of the face-to-face 3rd party module (compatible with Moodle 2.0~), which allows for scheduling of these types of events. The version introduced is a special multi-session version that was designed to allow users to register for more than one 'meeting time' in each face-to-face module instance. The presenter will walk through a demonstration of the simple installation and setup process for the module. An explanation of how the face-to-face module can be used for scheduling lessons, counseling sessions, and other meetings will follow the module introduction. After introducing the module and providing examples of how it can be used, the presenter will ask attendees to participate in a short brainstorming activity in which they are encouraged to think of other ways that the face-to-face module might be used. (Note - The face-to-face module and the special multi-session version that will be introduced are available via the same open source GPL as Moodle.)

In language or presentation-based courses, the process of recording and sharing online video can be expedited using a new module called VideoBoard. The module, developed by the presenters, is designed to seamlessly upload video files captured with an iPad directly to a Moodle course. The module incorporates self- and peer-evaluation grids that can be customized using Moodle’s new criteria-based assessment tool called rubrics.
Using the VideoBoard module, together with the integrated iPad app, video files can be shared within a Moodle course via the VideoBoard activity where students and instructors share, evaluate, and comment on the video postings. Furthermore, each video posting is evaluated using rubrics that can be defined in advance by the teacher, providing richer and hopefully more useful feedback to the learner. This presentation will demonstrate the mobile app in use and discuss how this module can be utilized in speaking-focused classes as well as in other CALL classes.

本発表では、大学教育の初等数学における学習環境について、従来の対面授業に加えて、最新技術を取り入れたe ラーニングを組み合わせたブレンディッド・ラーニング(混合型学習)について、【実践的な事例】と【技術的な側面】をそれぞれ紹介します。
前半において、実践している『Moodle Ver.1.9.x』をベースにしたeラーニング環境で、通常のHTMLファイルに数式を表現するための組版処理言語『TeX』を組み入れて、このWebページに対して、アメリカ数学会が公式に利用している『MathJax』が表現変換を行うことで、美文書的な数学テキストが配信されます。
　さらに数学オンラインテスト・評価システム『STACK 2』および数式処理システム『Maxima 5』が連係して、ランダムな数値で構成された数学問題を出題し、受験後には自動的に採点作業を行う数学テストを利用しています。
実践した数学の分野は、(a) リメディアル数学　(b) 基礎数学　(c) 線形代数　(d) 微分積分学を提供しました。それらの取り組みについて紹介します。
後半において、先の学習環境を支える技術的な側面を次のテーマに沿って紹介します。　(1) 複数サーバ環境での『Moodle 1.9.x』と『STACK 2.0』の導入設定　(2) 『Moodle』の負荷分散　(3) 『Maxima』の設定　(4) 『Moodle2.3.x』と『STACK 3.0』の導入設定

PoodLL is a suite of plugins that add multimedia functionality to Moodle. These functions include, audio and video recording, whiteboards, and interactive widgets such as stopwatches and timers. In the presentation the main developer of PoodLL will demonstrate these features. First there will be an overview of PoodLL covering what PoodLL does, what Moodle mods it is comprised of, and how to install it. This will be followed by an explanation and demonstration of PoodLL video recording and PoodLL audio recording. After this the PoodLL interactive widgets will be demonstrated and some of the ways they can be used in a classroom situation will be covered. Finally there will be an introduction of some of the newer features of PoodLL, notably support for recording with mobile devices, and PoodLL realtime audio/video pairwork.
PoodLL has evolved a lot over the last 4 years. It is now quite mature, has a wide range of features and options, and is much simpler to install and use. So the presentation should be useful for both current and new PoodLL users.

EnglishCentral has been working with a few universities to add an English language learning plug-in to Moodle to enable interactive speech feedback, using speech assessment technologies. This Plug-In allows users to speak any line of a video and get instant feedback, including having their voice recorded and compared against native speech and each of their phonemes individually scored. The system also provides overall assessment of learners speaking challenges and recommends exercises for remediation.

全学規模でのMoodle運用にあたっては、学期毎に大量のコース・カテゴリの作成や、履修者の各コースへの登録などの事務的な作業が必要となる。
現在札幌学院大学では、前期・後期にそれぞれおよそ160講義のコースをMoodleに作成し、履修する学生をコースに登録している。
このような作業をスムーズに行うため、CSVファイルをアップロードするだけで複数のコースカテゴリを一括して作成できるツール（Course category upload）、および大量のコースを雛形のコースを複製して複数のカテゴリそれぞれに一括して作成できるツール（Course upload）などのMoodleのサードパーティの管理ツールを中心に、LDAPサーバ（本学ではActiveDirectory）に登録されているユーザにMoodleをスムーズに利用していただくための注意点、Moodle標準機能であるCSVファイルからのユーザアップロード機能を用いた履修登録後のユーザのコースへの登録方法などをデモを交えて紹介する。
When Moodle is used for large-scale operation in a university-wide curriculum, it will require clerical tasks like the creation of large numbers of courses and registration of students. Sapporo Gakuin University creates 160 courses each semester and maintains registration of 3000 students. For smooth operation, we will introduce some administrative features of Moodle and a plug-in demo for reducing time-intensive management tasks.

本校英語科では、教科書を用いた授業を中核としながら、平易な英語をナチュラルスピードで多量に聞く多聴活動や、初歩的な絵本やグレーデッドリーダを用いた多読の活動、継続的にまとまった分量の英語を書く活動など、授業を補完するための活動を取り入れている。
これらの活動は、従来は用紙を配布して回収するというペーパーベースで実施していたが、2008年度よりレンタルサーバ上にMoodleの学習サイトを構築し、英作文課題の投稿を受けられるようにした。加えて、毎年夏休み明けに実施している英語スピーチコンテストの原稿提出などもオンラインで提出できるようにしたり、授業の補完的な活動もオンライン上で行えるようにした。
2009年度からは、京都産業大学のThomas Robb氏らが中心となって開発を進めているMoodleReaderモジュールを導入し、多読活動の学習管理もMoodle上で行っている。本発表では、中学校の英語授業でMoodleをブレンドラーニングの一環として導入する経緯と、大学などで活用する場合との違いや留意点、学習活動の変化や学習の質的変化について考察する。
