発表の題名: How do the VAM and Workshop Modules Compare?
発表の種類: Presentation (20 mins) プレゼンテーション(20分)
発表の言語: English 英語
発表のキーワード: Assessment, Video, Workshop module, VAM
発表の要約: One of the newer modules available is the Video Assessment Module or VAM. As its name states, it is set up to assess videos made by class participants. But, it is really new in the sense that it is filling a vacuum? When one looks at the Workshop module, a core Moodle module, one can see that it can be applied to video assessment without much additional effort. This presentation will compare the two in a side-by-side manner showing the advantages and disadvantages of both. Aspects for comparison to be considered will be the required time needed to learn or the learning curve associated with each before use among students, the variability of scheduling options, distribution of material to assessors, and grading options. Not that this is to be seen as a contest, but rather to inform teachers so they may find the best fit for themselves and their students when assessing video-based assignments.

Feedback Should be an interesting presentation. This phrase seems a bit casual for an academic presentation: "Not that this is to be seen as a contest"

Feedback Comparing two modules will give users the option to make an informed decision on what to use. In that sense, this topic is interesting to Moodle users. The abstract, however, contains several writing issues. Three are indicated below. In addition, since the abstract is rather short, it might be worth adding a preview of some of the (dis)advantages of the modules. 1. Minor grammar error: But, is it really new in the sense that it is filling a vacuum? 2. Needless repetition: the required time needed to learn or the learning curve 3. Awkward sentence: Not that this is to be seen as a contest, but rather to inform teachers so they may find the best fit for themselves and their students when assessing video-based assignments.
