Just wanted to let you know that individual lunch boxes are available for order on the MoodleJapan.org website. Click this link and order for either Saturday, Sunday, or both days.

Also, the lunch boxes for order can be either non-vegetarian type or vegetarian type. If you want a vegetarian type, please send me an email directly at thomw@niu.ac.jp after you place your order.

In addition, our sponsors are holding lunchtime presentations on both Saturday and Sunday. They will be giving away free lunch boxes to up to 30 participants. If you wish to have a free lunch box, please attend the lunchtime sessions -- remember that it is first come, first serve.

Note: Only place an order for a lunch box if you wish to purchase a slightly nicer lunch box than will be provided by the sponsors.

ご存知のように、日本ムードル協会の「ベスト・イノベーション」賞の受賞者は、ムードルユーザー協会のプロジェクトとして提出されるように推薦されます。先月、Moodle 4.1のプロジェクトサイクルが終了しましたが、残念ながら、MAJの応募作品（Discussion Forum Metrics）は3位でした。

しかし、MUAの個人会員であるDavid Campbellさんは、プロジェクトサイクルに参加するために自分のプロジェクトを提出しました。彼のプロジェクト「Database Activity Enhancements」は最も多くの票を集め、Moodle 4.1への収録に向けて1位を獲得しました。おめでとうございます。

Dear MAJ members,

As you know, the winners of the Moodle Association of Japan "Best Innovation" awards get nominated for submission as a Moodle User's Association project. This past month, the project cycle for Moodle 4.1 came to a close, and unfortunately, the MAJ submission (Discussion Forum Metrics) came in 3rd place.

However, David Campbell who is an MUA individual member submitted his project for inclusion in the cycle. His project "Database Activity Enhancements" garnered the most votes and has won first place for inclusion in Moodle 4.1! Congratulations to David and well done!

Remember to take part in the Moodle Association of Japan "Best Innovation" awards at the next MoodleMoot Japan in 2022! You may see your own project idea included in a future Moodle release!

Hello Moodlers! Here is a schedule of this month's town hall meetings at the Moodle Users Association. Note that Justin Hunt is the speaker in today's meeting!

Description: During this Town Hall session, Justin will tell us more about both Generico and Poodll. Generico is a simple template filter, it allows you to set up text and code snippet templates to use in Moodle text areas, when Moodle encounters a Generico filter string, it will use the data in the filter string to fill out the template, and insert it into the page. It is useful for ad-hoc template purposes, where writing a new plugin would be overkill, or just for re-using common pieces of text. It can be used to centralize and manage the embedding of iframe content from video hosting services, and educational app providers.

Besides Generico, Justin also works on Poodll. Poodll is a collection of add-ons for language teachers, including activities and tools that extend the functionality of Moodle LMS to teach and learn languages online.
