We call our students "apprentices" and many thousands of them have participated in the International Virtual Exchange Project (IVEProject) over the last 14 years as part of their English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classes. EFL classrooms are places where students from the same language background interact, and it is not always easy to for them to interact in a meaningful way. The English students use in such classrooms does not have the immediacy it would have in an international setting. To overcome this problem, Virtual Exchange (VE) can be used. VE gives students virtual mobility, enabling them to participate in a global community, use English in real-world communicative events and become more culturally acclimatized. Though there are many benefits to VE, it is often not easily accessible to teachers. This presentation will outline how the IVEProject has transformed the way many of SENA's teachers teach English and the incredible effect the project has had on our apprentices. It will start with a brief outline of how SENA became involved with the IVEProject and how it has been incorporated into the curriculum. It will note that Moodle has been one of the chief reasons for the success of the implementation. Further details of the development of the IVEProject and its future in Colombia will be outlined with results showing the positive outcomes that have been achieved. |

Feedback The presentation has potential. However, Moodle seems to come as an afterthought in the one before last sentence: "It will note that Moodle has been one of the chief reasons for the success of the implementation. " As such, the connection with the conference is weak, and the presentation feels more like a report on the SENA IVEProject, rather than a Moodle-related presentation. The reviewer hopes the presenter will spend a good part of the presentation on explaining how Moodle was beneficial to the project. SENA, Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje or National Learning Service is not a readily understood concept by the Moot audience in Japan. Provide an explanation. Peer Review 2
