I don't think Paul is intending to continue paying for the maintenance of either question type or the activity module of the SAssessment project.
I myself have not used the plugin. However, if Tom is still intending to use it in the future and funds are available, I could take a look to see what might be involved to get it working in Moodle 4.x, 5.x and beyond.
