Welcome to MoodleMoot Japan, hosted by Ibaraki Christian University, on February 15-17, 2023.

MoodleMoot Japan is an academic conference of educators, researchers and developers of the open source Moodle LMS (learning management system). The not-for-profit Moodle Association of Japan (MAJ) has organized this event each year since 2008. MAJ publishes an annual referreed journal, the Proceedings of the MoodleMoot Japan Annual Conference (ISSN 2819-5139) to highlight the best papers of the conference.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that the Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU) and Moodle are in collaboration for making Moodle as a best platform for the open and distance education in Asia. We understand that most of the open universities in Asia use Moodle as a learning platform. It is therefore beneficial for making Moodle to be more adaptive for the diverse needs and purposes of open and distance universities in Asia. Thus, the AAOU and MAJ will co-sponsor a special stream for open universities using Moodle on February 16th. Watch for announcements and a special schedule for that day. We anticipate a keynote address from the leader of the Moodle Project, Dr. Martin Dougiamas.
