10月9日にMoodle 4.3がリリースされました。Moodle 4.1 が昨年11月にリリースされたのと比べ，1ヶ月ほど早いスケジュールとなっています。今回のアップデートには機能・システムの大幅な改善が含まれています。ここではそのうちのいくつかをご紹介します。
【サイト管理】
サイトの管理上では，コミュニケーション機能として待望の Matrix が利用できるようになりました。これにより，コース登録者が Matrix を介したメッセージのやり取り（チャット）ができるようになります。TinyMCE エディター，LTI による外部ツールの利用，レポート機能も大きく改善しています。また，活動完了のデフォルトをサイトレベルで設定できるようになりました。
多要素認証（MFA）が利用できるようになるなど，セキュリティ面の機能も強化されています。
【コース】
コースには主に 7つの機能上・表示上の改善がなされています。例えば，Moodle 4.0 で導入された活動の「カード」デザインが改善されています。これにより，グループや利用制限，活動完了を簡単に設定できるようになり，またカードの形状がシンプルになったため，ページ全体の高さを抑えてスクロール量を減らすことができるようになりました。
活動を共有するための仕組みである MoodleNet は，コース全体も一度に共有できるようになりました。もちろん，コース内の一部のコンテンツを選択して共有することも可能です。

We are happy to share the news that Moodle 4.3 was released on October 9. This is earlier by a month than last year's 4.1 in November.
This is such an important release with many valuable changes requiring orientation and training, that we are going to make MoodleMoot Japan 2024 focus a whole stream or workshops on Moodle 4.3.
We are introducing some of the major and exciting features of Moodle 4.3 here.
Site Administration
In Site Administration, Matrix is a new messaging system that we have long been waiting for. Will this be a challenge to Line, WhatsApp, or even the default Moodle Messaging? Not sure yet. In addition, TinyMCE editor, LTI, Report Builder are vastly improved.
Site level activity completion is also introduced. As an admin, you can make completion criteria common defaults, rather than force teachers to do it all themselves.
Next, admins will love these security improvements like MFA.
Course
For teachers, seven major improvements, including new activity icons (smaller and more compact) have been implemented.
You can now share a whole course as well as the parts of it through the MoodleNet quickly.
